One of the biggest problems in India is human trafficking. Every day, approximately 200 girls in India are forced into prostitution. The average age of the girls is 11! Rahab’s Rope is a ministry that gives hope and opportunity to women and girls who are at risk or have been forced into the commercial sex trade. EPIC was able to raise $4000 to help these women and children!
In addition, on April 27th, we partnered with many other churches and Christians to serve the local community through ServeFest. Close to half of our church participated in 9 different service projects in the Aberdeen community!
Short Term Trip Opportunities:
India, July 16-26th: There are over 6000 unreached people groups in the world. These people have little or no access to the Good News about Jesus. A large number of these people live in India which is home to over 1 billion people. We sent our first team to India last year and hope to send three more teams in the next 2 years. The current trip is CLOSED but if you are interested in future trips, please also contact Brian (brian@epiccommunitychurch.org). Please pray for our EPIC team! And if you would like to give a gift to help the team going in July, you can write a check (memo: India trip) or give online.
Short Term Rebuilding Work: During the summer, EPIC will send a team on a short trip (about 4 days: Thursday-Sunday) to help with rebuilding efforts from Sandy. If interested please contact Chris McNeil (ski1402@yahoo.com). Details coming shortly!
Upcoming Community Events
MOVIE NIGHT! EPIC will host a movie night on June 21st to kick off the summer! The event will be at Ripken Stadium with 2 HUGE Screens (each almost 3 story’s tall). We will have free popcorn, drinks and snacks. Gates will open at 7 and the movie will start at 8:30.
EPIC Giving: EPIC gives a significant portion of our offerings to support local and global mission work. This includes church planting efforts, support for missionaries, short term trips, support for local ministries, and blessing our community in tangible ways.
