EPIC WOMEN'S MINISTRY

Women encouraging one another to love God deeply through prayer, Gospel-centered teaching, and events that promote spiritual growth.

Last year, our women's ministry team came across a survey done by Lifeway about 2 years ago.  Lifeway surveyed over 800 women about all sorts of things related to Women’s Ministry. They  put out 4 reports with many interesting results.  But one result stood out.  It was the TOP ANSWER in the survey.  It was that 71% of the women surveyed indicated that "growing closer to Jesus" was one of the things they wanted from women’s ministry.    It’s not community or social gatherings that women place as a priority (although these too are great). But right to the heart of it all, women want to grow closer to Jesus. It's the best thing we can ever have or desire.  But how do we get there?  And how can Women’s Ministry help to accomplish this?
First, we have a mission.    Our mission statement is Women encouraging one another to love God deeply through prayer, Gospel-centered teaching, and events that promote spiritual growth.   We want to be women who are there for each other, in good times and bad. And we want to be women who help each other grow in Christ.  But most of all, we want to be women who desire to love God with all of themselves.
Our scripture focus will remain the same:  You shall love the Lord your God with all of your heart and all of your soul and all of your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22:37-39  We believe that loving God and loving others should always be our focus.
We will have several women's ministry events throughout this year. This includes events like service opportunities, secret sisters, freezer meals, summer book club, half-day seminar, and fall retreat.  In addition, we'll have monthly prayer gatherings called Pray First.  Read more about our prayer initiative below.

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.  Matthew 22:37

Pray First

Pray First is the name of our bi-monthly, one-hour time of prayer for  women.   We meet on even-numbered months on Saturday morning at 8a.  Our prayer gatherings will be at the church in Suite L.  The hour will be spent praying , with a  short amount of time at the beginning to explain any themes or formats being used. *** You do not have to pray on your own, out loud.  No need to sign up.  Just show up!

Our next Pray First is Feb 15 at 8a.
