That was Worth It

“That was worth it.” Most of us have used that phrase indicating that a certain experience was worth whatever cost, inconvenience or trouble were required. In Acts 5, the apostles were arrested, threatened and severely beaten for continuing to teach the Gospel message. Afterwards, they didn’t say, “let’s never do that again.” Instead, they were rejoicing. In essence, they were saying, “that was worth it.” That’s how valuable Jesus and the message of the Gospel are. In this sermon, we ask the question: what made it worth it? We will see 4 reasons: the approval of God, the value of the message, the hope of God’s purposes and the joy of conformity to Jesus.
