The Cruciform Life
Often, we start out with good intentions and lots of enthusiasm only to fizzle out somewhere along the way. We often aren't willing to push through the discomfort of sacrifice that is required to reach a new normal. This was the Corinthian church. They had a good desire to help others in need but had given up after a while. So Paul writes to them to encourage them to finish what they started. But instead of using guilt to motivate them, he uses grace. Paul tells the Corinthian church about God's grace through Jesus who became poor so that we could become rich. When that grace gets in you, it changes you and redefines what is normal. In this final message of the series, we are invited to a life patterned after the cross, where self-sacrifice becomes the new normal.
