When You Are Tired And Doubting

When you are tired, you are often not at your best. Research shows that fatigue reduces courage and self-control, and it clouds decision-making. That’s exactly what happened to David in 1 Samuel 27. After years of running from Saul, he grew weary, stopped trusting God’s promises, and compromised by seeking refuge with the Philistines. For sixteen months the Lord’s name disappears from the story, yet God never stopped preserving David. By chapter 30, at rock bottom, David turns to the Lord and starts preaching the truth to himself again. And everything changes. This passage shows us the danger of weariness, what to do with our doubts, and how to find strength when we are tired emotionally and spiritually.
